MAFF.tv: There are so many talented creatives across the world that aren’t being exposed in mainstream media. We recognized the need to give those creatives a platform and in 2021 went live with MAFF. What started as a video streaming platform is today, a global marketplace. While we evolve into the world of ecommerce, our mission remains the same, to make creative culture as accessible as possible.

MAFF.tv: The culturally curious are our demographic. They yearn for authenticity in our hyper connected world. While our audience can now shop MAFF, it’s never been about purchasing items. Our focus has always been about creating value to everyone who engages with our platform. Whether it’s learning about a new culture or being inspired by a new design practice, we engage with our audience by enhancing all touchpoints.

MAFF.tv: MAFF stands for Music Art Fashion Forward- it is a celebration. It’s about empowering self-expression, bringing back playfulness, letting everyone join the party. It’s not about shopping, it’s about telling the stories of creators from around the world and showing their work with love and admiration rather than just a product title and price sign.

Joseph DeAcetis: How does MAFF curate its roster of independent artists? What criteria do you consider when selecting new artists and brands to feature on your platform?
MAFF.tv: We seek out authentic self-expression on a global scale. When we witness artist(s) creating their own style with love and inclusivity, we gravitate towards them. Second comes quality- we go through a quality check of all artists on MAFF, ensuring that all items are made with quality materials and that they are transparent in their production processes.

MAFF.tv:MAFF was created to give exposure to creativity. Nothing is staged- we only show work that artists are proud of. Everyday is a success story when we are recognizing artists who spend their time bringing beauty into this world.

MAFF.tv:  Engagement levels are running high and we’re just at the start! Consumers are excited because it’s not about consumption, it’s about education and community. MAFF.tv:  Who else would we support? A brand name for the sake of it being a well-marketed name? Do we know the quality that brand adheres to? Do they pay their workers? Are they producing mindfully of the environment? With the rise of technology comes the rise of information, comes humanity’s awareness. In the end, we are supporting real people who enjoy bringing beauty into this world. 

Joseph DeAcetis: As MAFF continues to expand its artist roster, what future goals or upcoming projects are you most excited about?

MAFF.tv: Our made to order model and the expansion of it, excites us. Outside of curating with quality artisans from around the world- enabling more bedroom creators to take that next step is what we are working on. Think of all the artists who may not have the funds but they have the talent and the heart. MAFF creates a structure where the artist can immediately get funding to create made to measure clothing for the customer. Meanwhile the customer gets one of a kind, tailor made items that go for the same price as something mass manufactured in a local department store.

MAFF.tv:  Our strategy is to always make the experience of value to our audience. With each scroll, whether it’s a simple fun fact about a city or an empowering quote from an artist, our audience is left charged rather than depleted.

MAFF.tv: We are forever laughing and learning as we go. Everyday feels like a new beginning to some element of  the company. At one point the challenges instilled fear but now, we see it through a lens of liberation. We’re here and we’re never giving up.
