269-year-old French heritage brand, Joseph Duclos, was founded as an exceptional tannery established in the late 1700s, by Joseph Duclos, a merchant from Toulouse who counted French royalty as his clients. Duclos’ tannery had royal warrants with leathers mainly used for furnishings and wall coverings. Craft was central to his work, as well as employing only natural tanning methods and the purest spring-fed water.
Ramesh Nair, Joseph Duclos’ Creative Director, is an Indian-born fashion designer based in Paris. He has designed womenswear for Hermès under Martin Margiela and Jean-Paul Gaultier. From 2010 – 2020 he was Creative Director for Moynat Paris. From 2020 – present he has been Creative Director for Joseph Duclos.
