Joseph DeAcetis: In your words, what is your competitive advantage in the luxury fashion footwear marketplace?
Antonia Saint Dunbar – Co-Founder/Chief of Design– Antonia Saint NY makes all of the shoes by hand in Spain by seasoned artisans who have been making shoes for generations. It is designed by Antonia Saint Dunbar, a disruptive innovator who has a track record of changing industries that serve a feminine customer with thoughtful design. While walking to her previous company, THINX (a personal care company well on its way to being a household name with multinational Kimberly-Clark expanding the brand worldwide), her feet were hurting her, and she began to dream of all the ways she would change a high heel to support the modern woman truly.
Antonia then developed the patented SoftSurround System and consulted with a leading podiatric surgeon to give 360-degree comfort underfoot and at the back, sides, and tops of the feet.

ASD: The inspiration is all the feminine heel-lovers out there who are always on their feet and want to run around in style, comfort, and grace.
The co-founder and Chief of Design at Antonia Saint NY, Antonia Saint Dunbar, knows what it is like to be prevented from living out one’s destiny in comfort if wearing painful shoes.
Far too many times in her own life, especially as the co-founder of her previous company, THINX, it was a necessity to go home early because the shoes she had in her closet were beautiful but painful.
So this collection is all about empowering heel-lovers with typically hard, but beautiful shoe silhouettes that have now been reclaimed with the patented SoftSurround System,
which acts like a secret weapon to support them in living out their dreams fully and in comfort.
JD: Moving forward, what is the business strategy concerning:
ASD:
Sustainable efforts – Antonia Saint NY is focused on creating and providing products of elegance that provide comfort solutions while also being more sustainable and durable. That is why they always have ballistic-nylon wrapped heels for no more nicks, durable and reinforced outsoles for greater traction and wearability, and a production focus on always seeking the most durable and sustainable fabrications, dyes, and production methods. Every box is made with recycled cardboard and all of their merch comes wrapped in compostable plastic bags that leave no trace, and they are always pushing their suppliers to innovate in this space as well with new materials. The intention is to make products of enduring value that you can wear for years to keep up with you as you go about your busy lives, to be gentle on the wearer while also being gentle on the planet.
Gen Z and Millennials – Antonia Saint NY is working to educate these generations in knowing how to buy quality and comfortable shoes. They are speaking out about how inserts and other typical “solutions” that other companies make to place within a shoe after construction simply do not work as they change the fit, are unreliable, and oftentimes simply don’t work.
