Inside NYC Bridal Week: A Fashion Editor’s Look at the Future of Weddings

From modern minimalism to statement guest looks, Bridal 2025 unveils the top wedding style shifts shaping the season—with exclusive insights into what every bride, bridesmaid, and guest will be wearing.

From ethereal minimalism to bold romance, NYC Bridal Week 2025 revealed a stunning array of bridal fashion. StyleLujo.com editors handpicked the standout collections redefining modern wedding style for the next generation of brides.

This past week, I had the pleasure of attending New York Bridal Week, a pivotal moment in the fashion calendar that sets the tone for the upcoming bridal season. Held biannually—in April and October—Bridal Week invites buyers, editors, stylists, influencers, and tastemakers to preview the latest collections from top bridal designers and emerging brands alike. It’s a celebration of craftsmanship, storytelling, and love—through the lens of couture and ready-to-wear bridal fashion.

As I made my way from showroom presentations to runway shows across Manhattan, I witnessed firsthand how the modern wedding wardrobe is evolving. From intimate designer previews to grand catwalk productions, the focus this season was clear: 2025 weddings are no longer single-day affairs—they are full-fledged fashion moments.

And one brand that’s clearly tapping into this evolution is Lulus. Best known for delivering attainable luxury with a modern edge, Lulus debuted its Spring 2025 Wedding Trend Report, giving us a data-rich look at where bridal fashion is headed. With insights drawn from a year’s worth of internal sales figures, customer surveys, and online behavior, the brand offers a compelling glimpse into the hearts—and closets—of today’s brides, bridal parties, and guests.

The Simply Striking Bride

The 2025 bride is confident and expressive, leaning into minimal silhouettes with maximum impact. According to Lulus, slip dresses are up 107%, with cowl necklines jumping a massive 250%. Floaty, romantic textures like tulle (+138%)and mesh (+52%) are being layered over sleek bases, creating an ethereal but understated glamour. Think soft sensuality with a modern twist.

Classic shapes have been reimagined. Square necklines (+81%) and sweetheart necklines (+37%) are on the rise, offering timeless elegance with fresh energy. Searches for “wedding dress” on Lulus.com surged 258%, a clear sign that today’s bride seeks design-forward looks that reflect her individuality.

Romantic, Playful Bridesmaids

Gone are the days of identical bridesmaid gowns. Today’s bridal parties are embracing their uniqueness through mix-and-match silhouettes, hues, and fabrics. Tiered gowns saw a 110% increase, while plissé textures jumped 143%. Soft tones like sage green (+89%) and lavender (+53%) lead the palette, with strapless and sweetheart cuts bringing youthful charm.

With many styles under $100, Lulus has made it easy for bridal parties to look chic without overspending. This inclusive and budget-conscious approach has driven bridesmaid dress searches up 250% and category sales up 45%—a powerful indication of changing expectations.

Wedding Guests Take the Spotlight

Social media continues to redefine wedding guest fashion. Hashtags like #WeddingGuestLook are trending, and so are dramatic black maxis, bold florals, and form-flattering silhouettes. The “Exquisite Refinement Black Backless Maxi Dress” emerged as a fan-favorite, while the “Beautiful Soul Burgundy Floral Twist-Front Maxi Dress” turned heads for its romantic flair.

Mock necklines saw a 74% increase, speaking to a more polished, editorial-inspired look among guests. What once was a quiet corner of bridal fashion has now become a statement-making category of its own.

More Than One Dress: A Bridal Wardrobe for Every Moment

The modern bride doesn’t just shop for the dress—she curates an entire wedding wardrobe for each celebratory occasion. From the proposal party to the honeymoon, Lulus’ data points to key trends for each milestone:

  • Engagement Parties: Column silhouettes (+43%) and square necklines (+28%)
  • Bridal Showers: Satin and A-line dresses dominate
  • Bachelorette Parties: “White mini dress” searches climbed 37%
  • Rehearsal Dinners: Strapless and square necklines shine
  • Honeymoons: Think knits, tiered gowns, and sleek columns

Forecasting 2025 Bridal Fashion: The Top 3 Trends to Know

  1. Basque Elongated Waists
A vintage detail made new again, this waistline sculpts the body beautifully. Expect luxurious fabrics like taffeta, satin, and lace to accompany styles such as the Bria White Basque Waist Maxi Dress.
  2. Corset and Bustier Bodices
Structure meets softness. These silhouettes are having a strong revival, with lace-up and boned bodices lending a bold, feminine energy to dresses like the Valeria Strapless Bustier Maxi Dress.
  3. Sheer Statements
From delicate sleeves to flowing skirts, sheer accents are bringing lightness and sensuality to the aisle. Pieces like the Glorious Luxury Sheer Tulle Embroidered Maxi strike the perfect balance of daring and delicate.

Looking Ahead: The Wedding Wardrobe Revolution

Lulus isn’t stopping at trend forecasting—they’re defining the future. Expect customizable bridal pieces (detachable sleeves, convertible styles), statement accessories (veils, gloves, capes), and even a collaboration with Australian label Elliatt, launching in April 2025. This capsule will blend Elliatt’s modern tailoring with Lulus’ accessible elegance—perfect for weddings and beyond.

As I reflect on the many presentations I attended this week during NYC Bridal Week, from avant-garde ateliers to consumer-facing showrooms, one thing is certain: bridal fashion is more exciting—and inclusive—than ever. With brands like Lulus translating runway energy into real-world accessibility, the 2025 wedding season promises to be one of creativity, individuality, and unforgettable style.

Whether you’re walking down the aisle or just attending with style, it’s time to rethink everything you thought you knew about wedding fashion.

As Fashion Editor of StyleLujo.com, I—along with my editorial team—carefully reviewed dozens of bridal presentations and runway shows this past week at NYC Bridal Fashion Week. Ricca Sposa:

As Fashion Editor of StyleLujo.com, I had the distinct pleasure of experiencing the Ricca Sposa ATELIER 2026 collection during NYC Bridal Fashion Week—and I must say, it left a lasting impression. Ricca Sposa is a Ukrainian brand specializing in bridal and evening wear, founded by the sole designer Yuliia Lobachova. Translated, Ricca Sposa means “wealthy bride.”

Set against a cinematic black backdrop, the presentation was both poetic and powerful, capturing a rare harmony between nature and high fashion. The majestic presence of horses alongside the models evoked a sense of quiet strength and grace, reinforcing the collection’s theme of purity, elegance, and emotional connection. Each of the 13 gowns, crafted in sumptuous satin and taffeta, embodied the minimalist philosophy Ricca Sposa is known for—refined silhouettes, architectural structure, and subtle details that spoke volumes without ever raising their voice. These are gowns for the modern bride who understands that true luxury lies in restraint, intention, and self-assurance. For those seeking a serene yet striking bridal moment, Ricca Sposa ATELIER offers an extraordinary vision of feminine strength and timeless style.

Joseph Abboud:

As a menswear professor at FIT and a longtime fashion editor, I had the pleasure of attending the Joseph Abboud men’s wedding fashion presentation yesterday at the Lambs Club during NYC Bridal Week 2025. The collection was a masterclass in refined American tailoring—Abboud’s latest designs struck a powerful balance between timeless elegance and modern sophistication. Set within the intimate, clubby atmosphere of the Lambs Club, the presentation gave each bespoke tuxedo and evening ensemble the space to truly shine. From sharp lapels to subtle textural contrasts, the craftsmanship was second to none. In my view, this showing was a standout moment in this year’s Bridal Week calendar—offering today’s groom an elevated, confident look that’s both classic and relevant. Joseph Abboud continues to define the future of men’s bridal fashion, one impeccably tailored piece at a time.

Katherine Tash:

Katherine Tash

Katherine founded her eponymous bridal collection in 2018. Her brand is known for designs that walk the line between contemporary and classic, something for the modern woman who is a romantic at heart. She just opened a new Atelier in Santa Monica, California, where each design is handcrafted and made to order.  Katherine is also a new mom (she had her daughter in November 2024), she also lost her new home in the Pacific Palisades fires earlier this year. She’s been balancing business, motherhood and the challenges that have come along with losing your home. She’s a testament to positivity and resilience.

Ariel Taub:

Ariel Taub

Designed specifically for the modern person who craves elegant and unique pieces, Ariel Taub’s jewelry is made by hand in the designer’s Michigan-based studio. With the finest brilliant-cut crystals, pearls, and intricate details—each piece is a true work of art.

Alyssa Kristin:

Alyssa Kristin

The Alyssa Kristin Collection embodies the essence of accessible luxury. Designed and handcrafted in the heart of Chicago, this collection is the brainchild of founder Alyssa Hoersten, who transitioned from a career in public accounting to the world of bridal design after an eye-opening search for her own wedding gown. With no formal training, Alyssa’s passion drove her to create, drape, and fit her wedding gown on her own body!  Today, 10 years after launching, Alyssa continues to drape and fit every design on her own body, ensuring the perfect fit each time. Interesting side note, she is a mom of 3 and 3 days after having her first child was back to work. Dedication and balancing new motherhood and growing a business.

Nadia Manjarrez:

For Spring 2026, Nadia Manjarrez Bridal presents a compelling continuation of her exploration of structure and softness — a delicate duality that has become central to the brand’s aesthetic identity. As Fashion Director at StyleLujo.com and Professor at FIT, I was particularly impressed by the brand’s commitment to honoring signature textiles such as Italian silk faille, corded lace, and airy chiffons, now elevated with tactile new additions like macramé, silk charmeuse, and sunburst-pleated fabrics. These materials serve as the backbone for a refined collection that emphasizes movement, architectural silhouettes, and technical finesse — from sculpted bustiers and voluminous ball gowns to precisely hand-draped bodices.

This season, Manjarrez draws from a deeply personal place: a long-awaited honeymoon to Japan that awakened a reverence for cultural detail and ancestral craftsmanship. Her fascination with the resourcefulness of Japanese warriors — particularly their intricate use of silk and minimal metals — inspires new design directions in fabric manipulation. The result is a poetic evolution of her brand DNA, where smocking, pleating, and sculptural draping echo historical artistry while remaining contemporary and wearable.

A deep red accent, subtly woven throughout the collection, pays homage to both tradition and resilience — a powerful narrative woven into the bridal experience. Standout modular pieces, such as detachable capes, arm covers, and stoles, offer brides the versatility to personalize their look without sacrificing elegance or craftsmanship.
