When it comes to Hollywood’s most versatile and magnetic stars, Benjamin Hollingsworth is making his mark as a true gentleman of style and substance. Whether you know him as the brooding Brady on Netflix’s Virgin River or from his gripping performances in Code Black, Hollingsworth embodies a modern, relatable charisma that transcends the screen.

From Canada to Hollywood: Benjamin Hollingsworth’s Journey to Stardom

Born and raised in Brockville and Peterborough, Ontario, Benjamin Hollingsworth never imagined that his path would lead to the bright lights of Hollywood. Growing up in small Canadian towns, he learned the value of hard work and perseverance early on. Benjamin’s journey into acting was fueled by a deep passion for storytelling, which led him to the prestigious National Theatre School in Montreal, where he honed his craft. His early years were spent in Canada, where he immersed himself in theater, refining his skills in both the dramatic and comedic arts. After moving to Toronto, Benjamin shared an apartment with actress Nina Dobrev, and together they navigated the bustling Canadian entertainment scene. But despite his success in his home country, Benjamin knew that to truly make a mark, he needed to take his career to the next level.

In 2009, he made the bold move to Los Angeles. Like many aspiring actors, he faced numerous challenges—endless auditions, tough competition, and moments of uncertainty. But Benjamin’s determination paid off, and he quickly made a name for himself in Hollywood. Today, Benjamin’s career is flourishing, and he continues to balance his thriving work life with a strong connection to his Canadian roots. His rise from Ontario to one of Hollywood’s most promising stars is a testament to his grit and resilience. From his standout role in Code Black to his fan-favorite performance in Virgin River, Benjamin has proven that he has the range to tackle diverse roles with depth and authenticity. As he looks ahead to 2025, Benjamin Hollingsworth is not just a Canadian actor—he’s a fixture in Hollywood, a leading man on the rise. His story serves as an inspiration to anyone chasing a dream, showing that with talent, perseverance, and the courage to take risks, anything is possible.

StyleLujo.com had the incredible privilege of capturing Benjamin’s dynamic, on-the-go menswear looks for Spring/Summer 2025 in an exclusive shoot with celebrity and fashion photographer Macrae Marran. As the editor of StyleLujo.com, I’ve had the pleasure of interviewing countless talents, but Benjamin Hollingsworth stands out for his undeniable charm and refined presence both on and off the screen. Hollingsworth possesses a rare quality as an actor — he brings depth and sincerity to his roles while maintaining an effortless magnetism. During our shoot for StyleLujo.com I found him to be not only professional but also genuinely kind and respectful to the entire team. His positive energy was infectious, and his willingness to collaborate made the entire experience seamless and enjoyable for everyone involved.

The Demands of the Modern Actor’s Lifestyle: A Jetsetter’s Wardrobe

For someone as in-demand as Benjamin Hollingsworth, the reality of being a top-tier actor comes with a hefty travel schedule that stretches across continents. From his home base in Vancouver, he’s frequently jetting off to Los Angeles for work, New York for press tours, Europe for film festivals, and even to remote locations like Fiji, where he was headed post-shoot. With such a jet-setting life, comfort and practicality have become paramount in Hollingsworth’s wardrobe choices. And while his fashion sense never falters, there’s a new wave of menswear that is tailored for high-performing individuals like him—luxury designers have begun to listen to male consumers’ needs, creating collections that not only exude elegance but also offer resilience, stretch, and wrinkle-free qualities

From a fashion perspective, Hollingsworth is the epitome of effortless style. Every brand we dressed him in — Nobis, POTRO and even Bulova watches— came to life with his presence. It was as if the clothes were made for him. Both of my trusted wardrobe stylists, Cesar Garcia and Deb Milstein, couldn’t stop remarking how flawless he looked in every piece. Hollingsworth doesn’t just wear clothes; he inhabits them, bringing their essence to life in a way that few can. He has a unique ability to convey sophistication and modernity, making him the perfect brand ambassador for any designer.

Modern menswear has embraced this blend of performance and style, understanding that a handsome watch, a well-tailored suit, and shoes designed for comfort are the essentials of today’s man. The modern conservatism in menswear is all about combining luxury with functionality, emphasizing garments that can hold up under pressure without sacrificing an ounce of sophistication. This is particularly evident in the innovative designs of high-end brands like LBM1911, Brooks Brothers, and Luigi Bianchi, which craft pieces that are not only aesthetically timeless but built for the modern man on the go. Hollingsworth, with his grueling travel commitments, knows that a suit that’s wrinkle-free or shoes that provide all-day comfort are more than just luxury—they’re necessities for a lifestyle of constant movement. The emphasis on both form and function in menswear is reshaping the industry, creating a new era of clothing that serves not only style but the needs of today’s high-performance man.

On a personal note, I was struck by the reactions of my friends and family when I mentioned I was interviewing Hollingsworth. The women were immediately intrigued, describing him as handsome and sexy, but it was their genuine curiosity about him as an actor and person that stood out. What I’ve come to realize is that Hollingsworth’s secret isn’t just his striking good looks or acting talent. He embodies a charisma and charm that feel approachable yet aspirational. Men see him as cool, calm, and collected — qualities that resonate universally. With career highlights that showcase his range and depth, Hollingsworth has firmly established himself as an actor who not only captivates audiences but leaves them wanting more.

In this editorial, I sit down with Benjamin Hollingsworth to discuss his career journey, his personal style, and the exciting projects on his horizon. Here are three fascinating topics we cover in our conversation:

  1. His transformative journey from intense drama roles to heartwarming fan favorites.
  2. The inspiration behind his style—and his favorite wardrobe essentials.
  3. A sneak peek into his future aspirations as an actor and budding filmmaker.

Joseph DeAcetis: Benjamin Hollingsworth, you starred in the medical drama Code Black, where you delivered an intense and heartfelt performance. What drew you to the role of Dr. Mario Savetti, and how did it shape your acting career?

Benjamin Hollingsworth: That was back in 2015, and at the time, I had probably done about 50 different auditions for pilots that season. I came close on a few, but nothing really panned out. When I read the script, I was told it was based on a documentary about a real hospital. When I watched the Netflix documentary (Code Black), I immediately knew the show was going to be different and a hit. The documentary showed a rugged, raw, visceral experience of ER doctors at LA’s busiest ER department. It was fascinating. I put a lot of energy into making that audition and character unique, and when I got the role, I was over the moon. Working with Marcia Gay Harden and Luis Guzman was a dream come true.

Each project leaves its mark, and Code Black certainly shaped me as an actor. It gave me lifelong friends and memories—and the surreal experience of working at Disney Studios in Burbank. Driving onto the Disney lot and seeing my name alongside Hollywood greats was something I’d dreamed of as a kid.

Joseph DeAcetis: Transitioning from Code Black to Virgin River on Netflix, how did your portrayal of Dan Brady differ from previous roles, and what personal elements did you bring to this character?

Benjamin Hollingsworth: My journey with Brady was unique because, from the beginning, I knew there was going to be a redemption arc. That allowed me to craft a character arc stretched over multiple seasons. Brady’s good heart slowly emerges through his struggles and turbulent past, making his evolution deeply rewarding. This extended character development is a luxury actors don’t often get, and it’s not lost on me.

Joseph DeAcetis: Virgin River has garnered a massive fan base. How do you feel about the show’s success, and what has been the most rewarding part of working on such a beloved series?

Benjamin Hollingsworth: As an actor, there’s only one way to feel about a successful show: grateful. The fan base is incredible—kind, compassionate, and drawn to the show’s themes of community and moral integrity. It’s a blessing to be part of something so special, and I’m endlessly thankful to Netflix for keeping me as a series regular after Season 1.

Joseph DeAcetis: Let’s talk about your style. How would you describe your menswear aesthetic, and do you have any favorite brands or wardrobe staples?

Benjamin Hollingsworth: Fall fashion is my favorite—cozy sweaters, structured jackets, and leather boots that feel like armor. I gravitate toward clothes that hold nostalgic value and feel like a second skin over time, much like a well-worn baseball glove. My go-to pieces include sweaters, jeans, and leather jackets that have stood the test of time.

Joseph DeAcetis: Hollywood is known for its fast-paced nature. How do you find balance between professional commitments and personal life?

Benjamin Hollingsworth: Balance is something I’m constantly chasing, as many of us are. It’s about recognizing when my kids need more attention or when my wife and I need time together. Likewise, stepping away from work stress to recharge with family is key. It’s never perfect, but it’s a battle worth fighting.

Joseph DeAcetis: As you look ahead in your career, what types of roles or projects are you most excited to pursue?

Benjamin Hollingsworth: I’m excited to step into filmmaking. I’ve been writing and hope to direct one of my projects soon. I’m eager to explore characters I’ve never played before and expand my creative horizons.
