The Western Wear Fashion Trend is Riding High in 2024

Western ideas and inspiration to help you Saddle-Up in Style

Starr Western Wear has long known that authentic men’s Western attire makes a bold statement, with patterns that illustrate comfort and style. This is the place for the best snap shirts that pair perfectly with jeans (cowboy hat optional). The El Paso, Texas, brand brings a variety of looks for men to enjoy nationwide, designed in-house. The enormously comfortable shirts are made from 97% cotton and 3% stretch.

This year, the trend’s biggest influence has undoubtedly been Cowboy Core. The cowboy-inspired aesthetic is regaining popularity. The return of the western look is ranking it high among on-trend predictions for 2024. This aesthetic originated with the cowboys of the American West in the 1800s.

Fueled by a growing obsession with American style, brands are dedicated to the new generations of cultural pioneers. In short, western wear reflects a culture of dress codes in a quintessential proposal founded in the nation’s genetics. Fashion is cyclical; every few seasons, the western trend evolves and the fusion contrasts and shapes authentic garments and accessories relevant to today. Rooted in reality but raised to modern standards, cowboy core today is an exercise in mixing.

Mix up your denim and flannels with unexpected materials – suede and leather are synonymous with cowboys but snakeskin and embroidered embellishments add an elevated touch. And, if you’re shy about going all out, a boot-cut pair of jeans or a fantastic bolo tie can do the trick. Slipped underneath the collar of a shirt, the bolo makes an exciting addition to your summer wardrobe. The accessory has great native American roots dating way back to Navajo and Hopi tribes who often wore bandanas around their necks and had to hold them on by tying a string around them.. Thenceforth popularizing the look. Soon thereafter, decorative elements such as silver and precious stones were added to braided leather cords, leading to the newly developed designs we know today as bolo ties.

Schott-Blackstock & Weber:

Schott Perfecto Jacket exclusively for Blackstock & Weber

Since they were founded in 1913, Schott has made a practice of bending the rules—they were the first company to use a zipper on their jackets, and their ‘Perfecto’ biker jacket has epitomized “cool” for the last century.

For our take on this legendary piece, we decided to bend some rules of our own. This is the first – ever – unlined Perfecto Jacket, meaning every intricate detail of the stitching and piping is on full display, revealed via a heavy-duty two-way zipper custom made for this collaboration.

The whole jacket is cut from a super thick suede with a rich caramel color, specially selected for how it will age, weather, soften, fade, and take on character. We finished the piece off with custom labels and Schott’s signature star hardware that alludes to Schott’s place as one of the premier brands in the history of American fashion. Each star was applied by hand using a technique developed specifically for this collaboration, as this placement and style has never been done in Schott’s storied history.

To this day, Schott still makes each jacket by hand in their factory in New Jersey—which is also the birthplace of Blackstock & Weber’s founder and Creative Director, Chris Echevarria.

To us, this collaboration is a story of Two American Icons.. Made in New Jersey.
